So...

I think I like this guy.  I'm only here because I'm taking a break from my casual Facebook stalking research.  I haven't really liked anyone in a minute so I don't know what to do with these feels. Yeah...there's that. Okay bye.

Transitions

I feel like I should be writing through this thing that's happening right now but I really don't have the space for it.  I feel like I should be writing, period.  I'm just having a hard time focusing.  It's not that there's a lot going on just a few little changes that may make a huge impact on the rest of my life.  I've never been one to care a lot for change but I think it's time to step out and make a few of them happen.  One little transition at a time.

Year 31

It's my birthday eve.  In two hours I'll be starting my 31st year.  There should be more pomp and circumstance and  declarations of "turn down fah what!" but I'm quite comfortably sitting at home, watching Real Time with Bill Maher as my puppy sleeps and a stack of homework beckons.  And guess what?  I'm content. I've long reconciled my reality with the fantasy version of myself that frolicked around my imagination with reckless abandon when I was a teenager.  I haven't accomplished half the things I thought I would have.  I haven't traveled the world.  I haven't met the love of my life.  Most days I don't know what I want to be when I grow up but I love my life.  I've accepted that this was my journey for reasons I have yet to understand.  If I were supposed to be any place else in the world, I truly believe I would be there right now.

As I start another year on this planet I feel hopeful that the next 30 will be beautiful.  I honestly cannot wait...

What's going on?

Been a while since I've done an actual post that wasn't about a product or whatever so I wanted to catch up.    I've finished my first semester of college with a 4.0 (woot).  I'm doing a few classes for the summer. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do.  I'm being pulled in two very specific directions.  Neither of which is my major, which for now is Teaching.  I know I'm going to change that because I hate history.  Like a lot.   I got a puppy, a corgi named Lady Rubington Vivian I (we call her Rue).  She's a sassy, smart little cookie and I love her fuzzy face.  Most importantly for the first time in a very long time I'm happy with the direction of things.  I don't know what the future holds but right now I'm happy.  Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.  I'll try to check in more.

Triple Nutrition and Just as Many Uses

Is there anything Garnier Fructis doesn't do?  They have hair and beauty products that have been getting lots of attention lately. This particular product does a little bit of everything.  I KNOW one product that you can use for everything!  You're dying to know what it is right?

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Miracle Dry Oil is what it is now let me tell you what's in it and what it does. The great people over at Garnier have combined three weightless oils, Olive, Avocado and Shea to make a product that you can use on your hair, body and face.  It absorbs almost instantly so you don't leave greasy handprints all over the place and it leaves your face, body or hair feeling soft and smooth.  Seriously what's not to love?

I regularly use a combination of shea and other oils on my skin so I'm familiar with the awesome that is shea butter.  I replaced my usual butter with this for about a week.   I used this only as a body product because I'm a snob about my hair and face  First thing I noticed was the smell.  It smells like a hair product.  I can't put my finger on exactly which one but it smells like something that I used to use in my hair. I'm not a fan of that.  The smell kind of lingers so I was less than happy.  The dry oil is description is quite accurate, though, it absorbs instantly and leave a nice (not greasy) sheen on your skin.  This is also where another complaint comes in from me.  The dry oil aspect is great but if you are saying a product uses olive, avocado and shea oils why are there so many ingredients I can't pronounce in the list?  I'm thinking that most of these are what makes the oil "dry" but given the choice I'd rather use a product that just has the three oils as ingredients.  Lastly, the moisturizing doesn't last very long.  There were a few times where in the middle of the day or night after using this oil that I'd be tempted to reach for my regular product because I noticed my skin was getting dry and itchy.

I really wanted this to be awesome and maybe stand in on occasion for my regular product because it's so easy to use.  The spray is really convenient when you are in a rush but I just couldn't like it.  Again, I'm a bit of a product snob and everyone's skin has very different needs so I would suggest you check it out.  You can buy it for $5.99 at drug stores and mass retailers like Target.  With that price tag it's worth shot to see if you enjoy it more than I did.

Little Yellow Bracelet

Twenty-two weeks ago I ordered a prayer bracelet because I had received a free credit from some random website.  The bracelets were cute enough and I didn't have to spend any of my actual money to get them so it was a win in my book.  The bracelets arrived and as a bonus I received a Brazilet.  A Brazilet is a wish bracelet from Brazil.  The bracelet is wrapped around your wrist and three knots are tied, for each knot you make a wish.  It is said when the bracelet naturally breaks down and falls off your three wishes will come true.  Cute, no?

Twenty-two weeks ago I tied this bracelet on thinking it would hang around for a few weeks and fall off and I'd own my wrist again.  Twenty-two weeks.  That's half a pregnancy.  There are no more words on it and it's rolled into this dirty yellow string but there is a part of me that doesn't just want to remove it.  I don't know much about wishes coming true but I do feel like this little, dirty, yellow thing is holding me accountable for things that are pretty important to me.  That hasn't stopped me from checking this thing almost daily for weak spots where it may one day break. I imagine my wrist will feel pretty naked without it once it does fall off, but if the tradition is to be believed my life will be pretty full and I won't have time to notice my little, yellow bracelet is gone.

Okay...Listen

I'm doing the whole online dating thing again.  Different website and so far not bad.  I've only had to block one person in the few days since I've started.  I'm ignoring a few others...for reasons.  They are damn good reasons though.

Here's the thing, though.  I like my phone number.  What does that mean?  Well it means that I'm not really here for talking to someone online for 2 hours and then being all like 'oh here's my phone number.  Feel free to text me at inappropriate times or whatever.'  I know that almost defeats the purpose.  If I were to meet (some) of these guys in person I'd probably hand my number over and not ask too many questions.   You know like olden times.  Or maybe I wouldn't I'd probably....know what I think I just solved this problem.  Stream of consciousness writing, folks.  Gotta love that.

ETA:  Second Google voice number kids.  Problem solved.  If it gets too real I can turn that off.
